In the Fall semester, my main role was level and environment design. I assembled tile environments with free assets the team found online that spoke to the idea of the project we intended. I also modeled a draft mask model to test with.
FINAL
Game Engine: Unreal Engine 5
Development time: January - April 2022
This Spring I have been creating an entire environment including tile maps and props. This will aid the process in developing the experience's originality and cohesive flow as the user travels throughout the created world.
3D ASSETS
As lead 3D Artist, my roles included:
- modeling high- and low-poly geometries in Maya
- create and texture tile map assets
- assembling level designs and layouts with existing assets
- texturing objects in Adobe Substance Painter, utilizing layers
- importing models and textures into Unreal Engine 5 to ensure quality during gameplay
- coordinate with game designer and programmers to ensure assets communicate desired impacts
- utilizing Maya and Unreal to show meshes and textures properly
- troubleshooting opacity/mask issues in Unreal using Maya and Substance Painter
