This project, through a collaboration with The Repurpose Project located in Gainesville, Florida, allowed me to explore reusable materials and how they can be given new life. As an outdoor installation, the structures created allow for unique experiences in a porch-like space along the exterior of The Repurpose Project's new storefront location.

"Extruded" conceptual perspective in vertical intervention

Because these interventions were designed with zero-gravity and cable suspension techniques in mind, they are fundamentally intended to be movable and able to be flipped on their respective top or bottom orientations. In order to explore and present this idea, perspective renderings were made from the opposing orientation for both types of interventions (horizontal and vertical).

The conceptual upside-down vertical intervention can be seen here.

The conceptual upside-down horizontal intervention can be seen here.

PROCESS
This project started by exploring materials and the kind of qualities they could lend to a space. PVC pipe, such as the kind that can be widely found in hardware stores, is also largely discarded and hard to recycle. I sought to explore and use this material as an interesting façade.
